Accommodation on Gran Canaria
First, consider in which area of Gran Canaria you want to stay. Gran Canaria is an island offering versatile places which suit many special holiday activities – so consider that in your accommodation planning. foto-shooting.es is located in the south of the island – and there you can find a wide range of different accommodation types.
Second, what kind of accommodation type do you prefer? Many clients just want to relax during their holidays and have everything arranged. For these a hotel with all-inclusive or half board is ideal. Another great possibility is spending the holiday in a bungalow park. These parks usually offer paid breakfast or half board. But of course it is also possible to rent a bungalow and do self-catering as they all have an equipped kitchen inside.
No matter which type of accommodation you choose, just read about our articles concerning various regions of Gran Canaria.
The holiday region Maspalomas
Playa del Inglés
is the perfect place if you want to party or go out at night and have only a short walking distance to the beach. You can choose between hotel rooms or bungalows with garden and terrace. You will also find many restaurants and night clubs there. But keep in mind that this night-life could cause some noise.
Meloneras
is the youngest area belonging to Maspalomas. Most hotels were built after 1997. You will find many luxurious hotels (4*/5*), a nice promenade with restaurants and a wonderful but also well-visited sandy beach, leading into the Dunes of Maspalomas. Many hotels offer accommodation with half-board or all-inclusive. This area is a quiet place with exclusive atmosphere.
Maspalomas
In Maspalomas you will find many bungalow parks which is the preferred accommodation by tourists who are exploring the island on their own. Of course you can book breakfast or half-board, but as each bungalow has an equipped kitchen, self-catering is also possible. A rental car is preferable as it might take 20 min. to get to the beach on foot.
Other regions
The „Little Venice“ – Puerto do Mogán – is in the south of the island. It´s a small pittoresque fishing village with white houses, colourful window blinds and beautiful flowers… it´s the place for romantic people. There is also a small sandy beach and a yacht harbour. A holiday in Puerto de Mogán is certainly very relaxing and you will have many restaurants at your disposal. The only disadvantage is that there is no nightlife and you have to take a car or bus to get to party places.
If you are the more adventurous type or nature lover, I would recommend accommodation in the mountains of Gran Canaria. The “casas rurales” are small houses or bungalows, where you can stay in the “inner heart” of the island.
Las Palmas, the capital of the island, is a great city. So if you are the “city-slicker” type, I recommend you an accommodation in the north of the island. Las Palmas offers a large sandy beach and has many very nice places to visit. It is no problem to explore the city for a week to see all the sights and areas. Las Palmas can be reached from the south by car in 45 minutes. It also offers good shopping opportunities. I recommend to all women to spend at least one day there.
